One of 29 Fulbright Scholars across the nation selected to be a Fulbright Ambassador for a two-year term. Dr. Memon is responsible for serving as representatives at campus workshops and academic conferences to expand Fulbright’s outreach efforts to the higher education community. He works to promote the program through sharing information to encourages faculty to apply and will work one-on-one with applicants. The ambassador will also work directly with campus representatives in his/her area.

The campus representative serves as a liaison between the Fulbright Program and the university faculty and staff for both U.S. scholars and visiting scholars to WSU. This position serves as a point-of-contact for faculty and administration to help promote the Fulbright programs through publicity and campus workshops; and to serve as a resource for colleges and departments participating in these programs.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program campus representative is responsible for promoting this program to U.S. graduating seniors and graduate students; young professionals and artists to study abroad for one academic year. This position helps interested students prepare an application; provide resources for the applicants; provide guidance and coaching for applicants; and assist with departure logistics and news releases for those chosen in each competitive cycle.

This office serves as an on-campus liaison with Fulbright administering agencies regarding student issues. Also, offers day-to-day advisement services for Fulbright students at WSU. Global Services offers a campus entry orientation session and some cultural programing opportunities to visiting Fulbright scholar faculty and students. Global Services offers billing services to Fulbright partners on behalf of their student scholars

The Washington State University Graduate School is responsible for overseeing the priority admissions process for Fulbright student scholars. This includes receiving and processing Fulbright application packets, providing tuition waivers, and working with the various Fulbright program directors and officers to ensure coordination and communication between the student’s institution and WSU.
