Education Abroad Participation Statistics

Participation in Education Abroad Grows 24% in Academic Year 2010-11

Washington State University has experienced a 29% increase in overall education abroad participation from fall of 2007 to fall of 2011. During the 2010-2011 academic year 722 WSU students studied abroad. Students from all four campuses and all 10 colleges integrated education abroad into their major. The College of Business led participation with 183 students abroad,  followed closely by the College of Liberal Arts with 165 abroad. Thirty-seven percent of participants were juniors, 45% studied a foreign language while abroad, and 62% received financial aid during their term(s) abroad. Italy, Spain, China, Germany, and Greece were the top five destinations.
