For Veterans Considering Education Abroad

Veterans or qualified spouses and dependents participating in WSU Exchange Programs and WSU Faculty-led Programs may receive VA Educational Benefits for education abroad classes required for his or her VA-approved program of study.

Veterans (or qualified dependents/spouses) participating in Study Abroad Programs sponsored by a 3rd party institution or private company may receive VA Educational Benefits only if the following three conditions are met: the institution or private company is VA approved; the tuition and fee charges appear on the veteran’s student account at the sponsoring institution; and the education abroad classes are required for the veteran’s VA approved program of study.

All veterans are urged to meet with an Education Abroad Advisor to explore education abroad options that meet these criteria and must contact your campus Veterans Affairs Office to coordinate payment of VA Educational Benefits.
