Conditional Admission Guidelines
International Student Checklist for Undergraduate Conditional Admission and beginning with English Language Training
Thank you for your interest in Washington State University as a sponsored student. We will consider your application for admission to our English language program and also for Conditional Undergraduate Admission when you complete the following. Note that two separate applications and fees are required.
Admission to the Intensive American Language Center
- Completed IALC application
- Non-refundable $75.00 application fee
(Checks must be drawn from a U.S. bank and made out to Washington State University) - Proof of financial support from Sponsoring Agency for ESL tuition, mandatory fees, insurance and living expenses. See application for details.
- Photocopy of your passport picture page
Conditional Undergraduate Admission
- A completed and signed WSU International Student Undergraduate Application
- A check or international money order for the non refundable $50 (US) application fee. (Checks must be drawn from a U.S. bank and made out to Washington State University)
- Indicate on the application form that you have NOT satisfied the English proficiency requirement
- Indicate on the application form that you are currently or will be attending classes at the Intensive American Language Center
- A completed Certificate of Financial Responsibility with Proof of personal financial support or from a Sponsoring Agency for tuition, mandatory fees, insurance and living expenses. If dependents are to accompany students, living expenses must be included for them, as well. Documents must be on authentic letterhead stationery with original signature and must not be more than three months old. Do not send copies or faxes of these documents.
- A copy of your passport identity page or national identification card. If one or more dependents will be accompanying you, you must also send a copy of the passport identity page or national identification card for each dependent.
- A copy of your I-94 departure card, if you are already in the United States
- Academic transcript evaluations must be sent to WSU. See item #3, below for an explanation.
Send Educational Credentials and Supporting Information
- You will need to have an evaluation sent directly to Washington State University from a member organization of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Freshman applicants should send a general secondary school evaluation report that includes a grade point average (GPA). Transfer applicants should provide a course-by-course detailed transcript evaluation. Materials sent to Washington State University will not be returned.
English as a Second Language admission is determined by the Intensive American Language Center (IALC).
