Departing WSU

Before departing WSU, please complete the International Student departure notification.

Your departure information will help Global Services update your record accurately.

If you plan to return to WSU in the future please read our Leave of Absence information

Reasons for Departure

Completion of Program

Your options upon completion of program at WSU include:

  • Departing the U.S. within 60 day (F-1) or 30 day (J-1).
  • Applying to Immigration Services for a change of non-immigrant status to remain in the U.S. lawfully.
  • Requesting a SEVIS school transfer or change of educational level within the grace period.
  • Engage in F-1 Optional Practical Training or J-1 Academic Training

Cancellation of Enrollment

To cancel enrollment after the semester has begun, you must fill out a cancellation form.

International students are required by the Immigration Services to notify an International Student Advisor of your early withdrawal.

Please contact Global Services prior to canceling enrollment online. If you plan to return to WSU in the future please read our Leave of Absence information


SEVIS School Transfer

If you are going to transfer to another school or program within the U.S., you must follow the SEVIS transfer procedures below.
