Worldmindedness
“A crucial part of global education is…a commitment to the principle of ‘one world,’ in which the interests of individual nations must be viewed in light of the overall needs of the planet” -Pike and Selby
Doing Our Part
The International Center aims to focus on more sustainable practices, which include reducing the amount of waste we create, reusing materials and resources that we already have and continuing to recycle as much as possible. We feel that our center, as part of a larger community, should be held to high standards of globally-minded practices.
International Center in Action
Global Education
Throughout the course of the semester, IC Interns explore and discuss global topics with the intent of understanding the increasing local/global interconnectedness of our global village.
The International Center provides the platform for students to engage with the world. As one international student pointed out when speaking about the IC, “The conversation starts here.” (-Masahiro Iemoto). This is just the beginning…
Giving Back to the Community
Keeping in line with the International Center’s, International Programs’ and Washington State University’s mission, goals and objectives, we, as a team of leaders, understand the importance of giving back to the community and demonstrating our commitment as global citizens. We value the motto: “Think and Act both Globally and Locally.”
The International Center interns participate in one organized service activity each semester that simultaneously serves and educates members of the Pullman community.
