International On Campus

How It Works

If you are an international student whose tuition is being paid by your home university, home embassy, a company, or a U.S. government agency, this information is for you.

How Sponsorship Works at WSU

Your sponsor should provide a Financial Guarantee Letter outlining the sponsorship conditions and financial coverage. You will need to provide a copy of this letter to WSU Office of International Programs’ Global Services department when you arrive at WSU.

When you enroll at WSU, the Office of International Programs pays tuition and mandatory fees on your behalf and sends an invoice directly to the sponsoring agency. The sponsoring agency then reimburses (pays back) WSU Office of International Programs for the invoiced amount.

You are responsible for paying any expenses that are not covered by your sponsor.

New Students

Bring a copy of your sponsor’s Financial Guarantee Letter with you to your orientation session.

If your sponsor or home country will be providing health insurance, bring your insurance card (or equivalent proof of insurance) to your orientation.

Within the first week of classes, you will need to meet with an Office of International Programs advisor. Contact International Programs to make an appointment.
