Academic research and international engagement play a vital role in our nation’s economy. The research capacity of universities is important to long-term national interests and competitiveness of the United States. By one estimate, approximately 80% of leading industries have resulted from research conducted at colleges and universities.

Though challenging to identify and secure, numerous resources are available to support the international work of WSU faculty, researchers, staff, and students.

Become an international mentor

The Cochran Fellowship Program provides short-term (2-3 week) training opportunities to agricultural professionals from middle-income countries, emerging markets, and emerging democracies. The Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship Program promotes food security and economic growth by providing training and collaborative research opportunities to researchers from developing and middle-income countries. If you are a faculty member interested in hosting and mentoring Fellows from either of these programs, contact GPRS.
