International Research

Are you a WSU faculty member interested in identifying more funding opportunities? Would you like assistance in applying for and securing more research dollars? GRE invites you to share your professional information with our team so we can identify opportunities for faculty and assist them with grant applications, implementation, and management.

Funding Sources

Academic research and international engagement play a vital role in our nation’s economy. The research capacity of universities is important to long-term national interests and long-term competitiveness of the United States. By one estimate, approximately 80 percent of leading industries have resulted from research conducted at colleges and universities.

Though challenging to identify and secure, there are numerous resources available to support the international work of WSU faculty, researchers, staff, and students.

Become an International Mentor

The Cochran Fellowship Program provides short-term (2-3 week) training opportunities to agricultural professionals from middle-income countries, emerging markets, and emerging democracies. The Borlaug International Agricultural Science and Technology Fellowship Program promotes food security and economic growth by providing training and collaborative research opportunities to researchers from developing and middle-income countries. If you are a faculty member interested in hosting and mentoring Fellows from either of these programs GRE can help.
