Maybe you’re an international student who has taken part in OPT or CPT, work-study, part-time employment, or an internship in the U.S. Do you know how to package and leverage your experience as you begin your career?
Good news! Your journey with WSU does not end at your graduation. We’re here to help prepare you for your career after college, and your international experience can play a big role.
Resources for all students
Every semester International Programs offers a Career Services Workshop series to teach you how to internationalize your resume and use international experiences to stand out. For international and domestic students, this series will help you enhance your job search.
The Academic Success and Career Center offers a number of services to help you with your personal development. Take advantage of career advising at the Academic Success and Career Center Monday through Friday, 1:30-4 p.m.

International students: Strengthen your CV or resume
OPT for F-1 students
Optional Practical Training (OPT) allows you to be employed within your major area of study for up to 12 months per educational level. You may be employed on and/or off campus. If you are in a STEM degree program, you may be eligible for a 24-month extension.
CPT for F-1 students
Curricular Practical Training (CPT) allows you to engage in an internship or job that fulfills a requirement for practical and/or field experience in your major field of study. It allows you to be employed in a supervised, temporary position.
Internships for all students
An internship is a carefully monitored work or service experience in which the student has intentional learning goals and reflects actively on what she or he is learning throughout the experience. They can be part-time or full-time, paid or unpaid.
Domestic students: Internationalize your resume
Studying abroad offers students many invaluable opportunities: They can further develop the skills they will need to compete in a global economy, cultivate their language competencies, build meaningful connections with people from around the world, and much more.
The Global Leadership Certificate is a flexible program that enhances your marketability in an increasingly international job market. It shows that you can analyze, adapt, communicate, empathize, and solve problems in a variety of ways.
