- Survey: Your opinion matters to us!
International Student and Scholar Services in the Office of International Programs is here to support you. To do that effectively, we want to learn what you need. You can help us by telling us through an International Student Needs Assessment Survey about your time at WSU so far, including your experiences on campus. The survey is open to all international students at all WSU locations, and it can be accessed in this survey. It is completely anonymous, meaning that your answers cannot be connected back to you.
Participation in this survey is voluntary as well as private, and we value your perspective and hope you will take this opportunity to let your voice be heard. If you have questions about the survey, please reach out to us directly at ISSS Email.
- Your country’s flag pin for graduation
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! In connection with the Graduation Celebration, IP-International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) will be offering a graduation flag pin to all international students expected to graduate this fall and who complete a Program Completion e-form in myPassport by Nov. 22, 2024, 5pm. The flag pin will be from your home country.
Pullman campus students must pick up their pin at Bryan Hall 206 between Dec. 2-6, no exceptions. Students outside of Pullman will have their pins mailed if they provide a mailing address. Questions may be directed to ISSS Email.
Thank you and congratulations from all of us in ISSS!
- Full-time enrollment requirements
As part of your F-1 or J-1 status, you are required to be enrolled full time unless you have authorization from ISSS to drop below full-time enrollment.
Within 30 days of the semester start date you must be enrolled in the following:
- Undergraduate students: 12 credits
- Graduate students: 10 credits
Please note that if you are a current student, your F-1 or J-1 status is tied to your full-time enrollment or having an approved reduced course load by our office. Holding on-campus employment, such as an assistantship, does not constitute maintenance of status. You can remain legally in status without employment, as long as you are full-time enrolled.
If you need to drop below full-time enrollment, please meet with an ISSS advisor or contact us (ISSS Email or 509-335-4508) to learn more.
- Report harassment/discrimination
If you witness or experience harassment or discrimination, please report it! Your identity will be protected, and you will help continue to make our campus community a safe and welcoming place for all. Here is how to report via Compliance and Civil Rights (CCR) website.
WSU Compliance and Civil Rights (CCR) provides resources, advice, solution building, investigation, support, education and training relating to compliance and civil rights. CCR is the central resource office for complaints of discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, and sex and gender-based violence.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact ISSS for assistance at ISSS Email or 509-335-4508. For non-Pullman locations, please contact our office so we can support you.
- Health Fee charge
The Health Fee is NOT automatically assessed if:
- During the fall/spring, a student is taking less than 7 credits, or
- During the summer, a student is not enrolled.
So, if you are ABD and not on an assistantship (likely enrolled in 2 credits) or if you are not taking classes during the summer, you do need to opt-in for the Health Fee to be seen at CHS/CAPS in Pullman. Students should still be covered under insurance, though.
If you have any questions about the above announcement, please contact International Student and Scholar Services.
