  1. F-1 transfer-out request

If you are going to transfer to another U.S. school after this semester, you must notify ISSS of your intent to transfer by completing the Transfer-out Request Form after being admitted to a new program. Your transfer school will not be able to issue you an I-20 until ISSS releases your student record in SEVIS.

F-1 transfer-out request forms may be submitted online with your WSU network ID and password: mypassport.wsu.edu. The form is titled F-1 SEVIS Transfer Out.

If you have any questions related to SEVIS transfer, please meet with an ISSS advisor during the regular open advising hours or by appointment.

  1. Undergrad: academic deficiency warning

Degree-seeking undergraduate students whose semester and/or cumulative GPA is below 2.0 after fall 2022 may become academically deficient.

Make sure to check your myWSU account when the final grades are posted after finals week. If you become deficient, read the Academic Success and Career Center’s information on academic deficiency and reinstatement.

Graduate students should contact the Graduate School regarding academic deficiency.

  1. Program extension

F-1 students: Look at the program end date under “Program Information.”

J-1 students: Look at box 3 on your DS-2019 to verify your program end date.

If you cannot complete your degree before your I-20/DS-2019 expires, you must apply for a program extension PRIOR to the expiration date of the document. The extension request can be found on myPassport.wsu.edu.

If you are going to leave WSU after this semester, please complete the departure form on mypassport.wsu.edu.

  1. Mypassport system down Tuesday and Wednesday

The mypassport system will be down Tuesday and Wednesday (Dec. 13-14) for maintenance. If you need to submit a request, such as a reduced course load, I-20/DS-2019 extension, etc., please consider submitting it before or after these days. If you have any questions, feel free to contact our office at ip.intlservices@wsu.edu or visit one of your advisors during advising hours Monday through Friday between 1-3 p.m.

If you have any questions about the above announcements, please contact International Student and Scholar Services.
