    1. How to schedule a vaccine appointment at Cougar Health Services (CHS)

As you are aware, all students should submit proof of vaccination or have an approved exemption on record by November 2021. Please visit our Covid-19 FAQ page for more information in case you have specific questions about this requirement.

If you choose to receive the vaccine at Cougar Health Services, here is how you can book your appointment:

      1. Visit Cougarhealth.wsu.edu
      2. Select Patient Portal
      3. Sign in with myWsu information
      4. Select Appointments
      5. Select Schedule an appointment
      6. Select Covid-19 Vaccine
      7. Search date will have to be 8/6/2021 or after
      8. Choose an appointment date and time

Additionally, vaccine clinics will be held at the Student Rec Center on Aug. 19 and 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. We encourage all students who choose to get vaccinated to book an appointment as early as possible.

      1. Graduate students: Contact IP for questions about obtaining a Temporary Payroll Processing Numbers (TPPN)

If you are a graduate student with an assistantship starting this fall (Aug. 15, 2021), and do not yet have a Social Security Number, please contact our office if you are encountering difficulties scheduling a visit at your local Social Security Administration office and/or need help obtaining a Temporary Payroll Processing Numbers (TPPN) for appointment setup. You or your graduate coordinator from your department can contact us at ip.intlservices@wsu.edu.

      1. ISSS encourages online OPT applications

As mentioned in an advisory last spring, USCIS is now accepting Optional Practical Training (OPT) applications online through their own system. After a few months and seeing how easy and beneficial the online application looks like, all ISSS international student advisors are highly recommending students submit their OPT applications to USCIS online. With that, as of Aug.1, 2021, we will no longer review pdf I-765 forms.

Students must still submit an OPT request form in the myPassport system and obtain a new I-20 form from our office before they submit their OPT application in the USCIS system.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office at ip.intlservices@wsu.edu or call 509-335-4508. We still maintain advising hours Monday through Friday between 1-3 p.m. PDT where you can speak with an advisor directly.

      1. Learning Support Center

The Learning Support Center is open and is here to help all international students and scholars! Come see our new space in Kruegel G-10, the basement of Kruegel Hall. If you haven’t looked at the LSC website yet, you can find it here.

The site includes a complete tutoring schedule with convenient hours where you can find a live tutor to help you with your classes (including evening hours!). Find the tutor schedule here. Tutoring hours are still available virtually through Zoom.

If you have any questions about the LSC and what it has to offer, please reach out to Lauren Reed at lauren.kruger@wsu.edu or come see her in the Learning Support Center on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
