  1. Survey: Your opinion matters to us!

International Student and Scholar Services in the Office of International Programs is here to support you. To do that effectively, we want to learn what you need. You can help us help you by telling us through a survey about your time at WSU so far, including your experiences on campus and remotely. The survey can be accessed here and should take about 5-7 minutes. It is completely anonymous, meaning that your answers cannot be connected back to you.

Participation in this survey is voluntary as well as private, and we value your perspective and hope you will take this opportunity to let your voice be heard. If you choose to participate, please complete the survey no later than Friday, Oct. 22.

If you have questions about the survey, please reach out to us directly at ip.intlservices@wsu.edu. Thank you for your time.

  1. NRC grades and instructional delivery after Thanksgiving

A few rumors circulating among students and on social media regarding NRC grades and instructional delivery after Thanksgiving break need to be crushed.

  • Students attending one of WSU’s physical campuses (Everett, Pullman, Spokane, Tri-Cities, Vancouver) will continue in-person learning after Thanksgiving Break. WSU will NOT switch to online learning for the final weeks of the fall semester.
  • NRC grades (No Record COVID) will NOT be available at the end of the fall term. Also, Incomplete-COVID (IC) grades will NOT be available.

  1. Covid vaccination hold

COVID holds, (appear as “COV”) have been added on as of Monday, Oct.11, 2021, to all continuing and newly matriculated students who are not in compliance with WSU vaccination requirements. This hold prevents enrollment for next spring term, and therefore can have a negative impact in your immigration status.

Please contact our office if you have questions about the impact to your immigration status. We do not have authority to remove this hold but can guide you on how to address it.

  1. French or French-speaking international students

The School of Languages, Cultures, and Race would like to reach out to French or French-speaking international students who might be studying at WSU Pullman this semester. They would like to meet and invite students to the various cultural events that their French section organizes every year. Occasionally, their section has options to host conversation groups. If interested, please contact Professor Sabine Davis at davissj@wsu.edu.

  1. Learning Support Center

The Learning Support Center is open and is here to help all international students and scholars! Come see our new space in Kruegel G-10, the basement of Kruegel Hall. If you haven’t looked at the LSC website yet, you can find it here.

The site includes a complete tutoring schedule with convenient hours where you can find a live tutor to help you with your classes (including evening hours!). Find the tutor schedule here. Tutoring hours are still available virtually through Zoom.

  1. Keep your old I-20s and/or DS-2019s

Every year our office receives many requests from former students asking for old I-20s and DS-2019s. They need these as they are applying for H-1B visas, Green Cards, or naturalization, as the U.S. government wants to see ALL old immigration documents when submitting such petitions.

Please note that keeping old immigration documents (former I-20s, DS-2019s, EADs, etc.) is the student’s responsibility. There is no guarantee that WSU will have these documents when you contact us, so prepare ahead and DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY.

  1. Get ready for spring! – How to avoid registration delays

Priority registration for spring 2022 begins Nov. 8, 2021. Start now in making sure you do not have any holds that will keep you from registering early! Check out this useful information from the registrar’s office: http://registrar.wsu.edu/media/756512/prevent-registration-delays.pdf?

See a hold, but do not know who to contact about it? Here’s a handy list to help you out: https://registrar.wsu.edu/registration-holds/.
