Deadlines and Dates

Admission

WSU accepts international applications throughout the year up until the deadlines listed below, and operates on a rolling admission basis. If you are interested in applying after our application submission deadline, please reach out to international@wsu.edu to discuss your options on how to come to WSU. We are always happy to help!

Application deadlines

*Response means that you have either 1) confirmed enrollment by paying your $500 Enrollment and Orientation Fee, or 2) requested a change of campus. Applicants have until the first day of the term to request a deferral or formally decline their offer.

**This date OR 2 weeks after you receive your admissions offer, whichever date is later.

Scholarships

You are invited to apply for additional scholarship awards from WSU. To be eligible for additional awards, complete and submit the general scholarship form. See the table above for scholarship submission deadlines.

Significant dates for new students

SpringFall
January:

  • Spring Arrivals Cont.

  • Start of Spring semester classes

  • New Coug Orientation for Spring

May 1: Admission Acceptance Priority Date for Fall - If you have been offered admission, please pay the Enrollment and Orientation Fee by May 1. You may still pay after this date but space may be limited. We recommend accepting your offer by this date in order to receive:

  • the most choices when signing up for housing

  • an early start on orientation and registration

  • more time for submitting required documents and visa processing.

December: Spring Arrivals - Students can enter the United States up to 30 days before fall semester classes start
December 1 – Confirmation Deadline for Spring and deadline for submission of all required documents.
March: Transfer Orientation - An early opportunity for international transfer students already living in the United States to attend orientation. They can attend any of the orientation sessions all summer long to get a head start.
June: Pre-Arrival communications begin sending to confirmed students. Watch for these emails and follow the instructions to make sure you are ready to start at WSU.
June 15: Fall Semester Application Submission Deadline At this time new undergraduate international students are encouraged to meet your academic advisor on Zoom to register for classes BEFORE you arrive to campus. International students are able to meet online with an advisor from June 3rd – July 30th. If this is not possible, you can meet in-person with your advisor as Session 11 of New Coug Orientation when you arrive. Steps are found here.
July: Spring Semester Application Submission Deadline
Fall Semester Arrivals
Students can enter the United State up to 30 days before Fall semester classes start. New Coug Orientation

November 15: Spring Semester Application Submission Deadline - If you have been offered admission, please pay the Enrollment and Orientation Fee by November 15. We recommend accepting your offer as soon as possible in order to receive:

  • the most choices when signing up for housing

  • an early start on orientation and registration

  • more time for submitting required documents and visa processing.

February: Applications for campus housing open - The date you confirm your admission (by paying the Enrollment and Orientation Fee) and complete the housing contract determines your priority for housing.
August:
New Coug Orientation
All students who have not yet registered for classes will need to attend this orientation program.
Week of Welcome
A full week of activities are designed to help you acclimate to campus, meet new friends, and get ready for fall semester.

This event is your official introduction to the academic community at WSU. Be sure to attend.
