  1. New student insurance premium

As of August 1, 2024, all WSU students will be enrolled in a new Student Insurance plan. Check your WSU email account for more information on how to pay and access the plan within the first two weeks of class. New insurance premiums are as follows:

Medical: $2,972.00
Dental: $182.00
Total: $3,154.00

  1. New International Student Tutorial August 16, 2024

ISSS will host the new International Student Tutorial all day Friday, August 16, 2024. While our office will be open for pick-up and drop-off of documents, walk-in and Zoom advising are cancelled that day.

  1. ISSS closed August 13, 2024

Our office will be closed all day Tuesday, August 13, 2024, for an ISSS internal meeting. Walk-in and Zoom advising are cancelled that day as well. We will resume regular operations the next day.

  1. Social Security Administration visit

Do you have an offer for an on-campus job or assistantship and need to apply for a Social Security number (SSN)?

Representatives from the Social Security Administration (SSA) plan to be on-campus to assist F-1/J-1 visa holders with the Social Security application on Saturday, August 24 from 8:30-11:30am in Bryan Hall 205. No appointments are needed, but students must RSVP at this form.

Students or hiring departments must bring their On-Campus Employment Offer Letter (International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) stamp and signature required) to Bryan Hall 206 for processing before August 24 (details below).

F-1/J-1 visa holders must bring both the original items listed below (applications may be denied if original documents are not provided) and a photocopy of each item (in case SSA must retain a copy for processing):

  • Social Security Application: Submit online and write down the reference number: SSA Page
  • Valid Form I-20
  • Valid Passport
  • I-94 Record (print from this website: i94.cbp.dhs.gov/)
  • Visa (or change of status approval)
  • For F-1 students: On-Campus Employment Offer Letter (ISSS stamp and signature required)
