  1. Advising hours Wednesday, November 20th

Due to a site visit for our advisors, ISSS advising hours will only be available between 2-3 p.m. (U.S. Pacific time) on Wednesday, November 20th. Regular advising hours will be resumed the next day.

  1. Thanksgiving holiday – Nov. 28-29

ISSS advising hours between 1-3 p.m. (U.S. Pacific time) will be available Monday through Wednesday of Thanksgiving week (Nov. 25-27), even though there will be NO CLASSES.

  1. Cougar Health Services registration holds. Check your myWSU account (Pullman only)

Do you have a EP43. BSRC, or another vaccine hold in your myWSU account? If so, these holds can prevent you from registering for the spring 2025 semester and can impact your F-1/J-1 status.

The BSRC workshop is mandatory for all first-year and transfer students who are under the age of 21 as of Aug. 1 during their first semester on the Pullman campus.

Please contact Cougar Health Services to check how to remove the hold(s) if you have any.

  1. International Programs office hours winter break – Plan ahead!

ISSS will be available for emergencies only during the University Winter Closure between Dec. 26, 2024, and Jan. 1, 2025. Although we will have reduced staff, advising hours (1-3 p.m.) will be sustained Dec. 26, 27, 30, and 31st. We cannot commit to processing requests within the usual 5-day turnaround time. Therefore, PLAN AHEAD if you need to submit a request to our office.

Please email us for questions or to set up an advising appointment. We will make sure someone from our team is available to help during this time.

  1. Deadline to withdraw from classes is this TODAY at midnight

The deadline for undergraduate and professional students to withdraw from a course (see Rule 68) is TODAY. Withdrawals do not reduce tuition charges and may impact your F-1/J-1 immigration status as you need to maintain full-time enrollment for the term. Please submit a drop/withdraw request in mypassport by midnight TODAY if you need to withdraw from a class, and on Monday our office will review if the withdraw will not affect your status. If it will, the request will not be processed.

Fear of failing the class or having a bad grade is not a legitimate reason to be approved a Reduced Course Load for immigration purposes. Please visit with an advisor between 1-3 p.m. (U.S. Pacific time) if you have questions.

  1. Social Security Office in Lewiston
