Keep your old I-20s and/or DS-2019s

Every year our office receives many requests from former students asking for old I-20s and DS-2019s. They need these as they are applying for H-1B visas, Green Cards, or naturalization, as the U.S. government wants to see ALL old immigration documents when submitting such petitions.

Please note that keeping old immigration documents (former I-20s, DS-2019s, EADs, etc.) is the student’s responsibility. There is no guarantee that WSU will have these documents when you contact us, so prepare ahead and DO NOT THROW THEM AWAY. Washington State law only requires our office to keep documents for 6 years, after that, they are shredded.

Get ready for spring! – How to avoid registration delays

Priority registration for spring 2026 begins Nov. 3, 2025. Start now in making sure you do not have any holds that will keep you from registering early! Check out this useful information from the registrar’s office: Prevent Registration Delays. Important Steps to Take Now!

You are expected to be full-time enrolled or have an approved reduced course load request by the 10th day of class each term. Otherwise, your SEVIS record will likely be terminated. So please plan ahead!
