International Emergency Fund

The International Emergency Fund is currently closed.

The Office of International Programs has created and maintains the International Emergency Fund, which is intended for any

  • student or visitor on an F or J visa status AND
  • has current status in the WSU system as a student or paid worker AND
  • who currently resides in the United States.

An emergency is defined as an unexpected or unforeseen, unplanned occurrence beyond the individual’s control that temporarily prevents them from obtaining funds through regular means to meet basic needs.

  • Anyone who meets the qualifications above must submit an application. Priority will be given to applicants with basic needs under the qualifying circumstances.
  • The fund does not give individuals money. Funds will be paid directly to the supplier of goods and services such as housing, emergency medical care, and water, electric, and gas service. Certain exclusions may apply.
  • An individual may be awarded assistance once in a given semester.

The committee that awards the funds is composed of faculty and staff in the Office of International Programs. They meet the third Tuesday of each month.

At this time, the application process is closed.
