  1. WSU Career Expo

If you are graduating this fall, here is a great opportunity for you. WSU Academic Success and Career Center will host the Career Expo with employers in two formats this year: virtual and in-person. Registration is required even if you plan to attend only one day!

Virtual event | Monday, Oct. 3 | 3-6 p.m.

In-person event | Tuesday, Oct. 4 | Noon-4 p.m.

Here is the ASCC page with information about the events and some tips before attending: ascc.wsu.edu/channels/career-expo-technical-fair/

  1. Open advising hours

Do you have questions or concerns about your immigration status (F-1 or J-1)? If so, our office has open advising hours every Monday through Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. Call 509-335-4508, come in, or join our virtual office between 1 and 3 p.m. weekdays to meet with an advisor. We cannot accommodate same-day appointments with advisors or meet students outside the hours above. So, relying on the open advising hours is the fastest way to get assistance. For students at other campus locations, feel free to connect over Zoom in the link above as well.

Remember: Do not rely on friends and/or an internet search for immigration advice – ask International Student and Scholar Services.

  1. OPT application guide

Are you graduating this fall and considering applying for Optional Practical Training (OPT) if you have an F-1 visa? Please see this comprehensive video about the application process and meet with one of our advisors on how to obtain the proper I-20 for this application.

  1. Mental health and crisis support, and overall resources

If you ever feel overwhelmed, know that this is perfectly normal. And remember you are not alone! WSU and our office are here to support you while you are going through a tough time.

Cougar Health Services offers mental health and crisis support services free of charge. Please visit cougarhealth.wsu.edu/crisis/ for more information.
