Spring Fair

The IP-International Center is hosting a Spring Fair to celebrate the end of the semester, graduation, and the beginning of Spring! Come to the IP-International Center, CUB L46, on April 19 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for a great day of international food, music, games, conversation and fun! Highlights include an international baked goods potluck from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., giant pizzas at lunch time, and an Ice cream social from 2 – 4 p.m. featuring Ferdinands’ ice cream. The Center brings people and cultures together! Join us!

Palouse Muslim Community Open House

The Pullman Islamic Center will be hosting an open house for the community of the Palouse. IP Vice President, Dr. Chaudhry, will be speaking during the events, alongside with other speakers, the minister of Community Congregational United Church of Christ, A. Stephen Van Kuiken, Imam Raed Alsawaier, and the keynote speaker, Imam Azhar Subedar, member of the White House Faith Base and Community Initiatives.

Thanksgiving Potluck

Join the Office of International Programs for our annual Thanksgiving Potluck. You are encouraged to bring a small dish to share. We will have small notecards with each dish listing the ingredients for noting any potential allergens or ingredients in your dish that guests may not be able to eat. All international students, scholars, dependents, Global Learning students, and IP volunteers are welcome to join.This is a great opportunity for us to gather as a department to share our appreciation for one another!

International Education Week

International Students’ Council’s International Education Week: International Art and Culture is a series of events and activities taking place across WSU – Pullman campus:

Monday, Sept. 19

  • International Foods Bake Sale and Henna Tattoos – CUB from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Women in Gold – CUE 203 @ 7 p.m.
    • The true story of an elderly Jewish refugee living in Los Angeles, who, together with her young lawyer, fought the government of Austria for almost a decade to reclaim Gustav Klimt’s iconic painting of her aunt, Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I, the “Woman in Gold” which was stolen from her relatives by the Nazis in Vienna just before World War II.  This legal battle resulted in the U.S. Supreme Court ruling against the Republic of Austria. An intriguing and thought-provoking movie that will keep you in suspense.

Tuesday, Sept. 20

  • International Foods Bake Sale and Henna Tattoos – CUB from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Ferdinand’s Tours and Free Ice Cream – Tours starting @ 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m.
  • International Professional Sharing Night – Todd Hospitality @ 6 p.m.
    • Enjoy a catered dinner while WSU international professionals share their experiences and have the opportunity to visit with the speakers in a intimate setting.  RSVP required

Wednesday, Sept. 21

  • Sketch Wednesday with Ildikó Kalapács – CUB Art Gallery at 12 p.m.
  • IEW Keynote Address: Ildikó Kalapács – CUB Auditorium at 5 p.m.
    • Ildikó Kalapács is a Hungarian American visual artist and folk dancer currently living in the United States. Her experiences living in both socialist and capitalist countries, have given her an appreciation of diversity.  Despite the importance of seeking cultural uniqueness in this era of globalization, she recognizes our common experiences through her artwork.

Thursday, Sept. 22

  • Parade and Walking International Fashion Show – Begins at the CUB and ends at the Museum of Art @ 12 p.m.
  • Museum of Art Installation (Northwest Alternative Comics, Artist Meet-&-Greet, and Vault Tours) – Museum of art/ WSU from 1 – 3 p.m.
  • Drawing Jam – Rico’s from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
    • Join in with comic artists from the NW Alternative Comics exhibit to create a brand new Pullman comic strip!

Friday, Sept. 23

  • International Cheese and Chocolate Tasting – Global Scholar Hall at 5 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Party and Art in the Park – Reaney Park from 12 – 6 p.m.
    • International food, art, music and dance presented by the International Students’ Council in collaboration with the WSU Museum of Art, Department of Fine Arts, WSU Children’s Center, International Programs, and the International Development Club.
