  1. Taxes

Tax season is soon approaching (January through April), so it’s time to start becoming familiar with its terms and regulations. Please visit our website to learn more about taxes and what to prepare for.

  1. F-1 transfer-out request

If you are going to transfer to another U.S. school after this semester, you must notify ISSS of your intent to transfer by completing the Transfer-out Request form after being admitted to a new program. Your transfer school will not be able to issue you an I-20 until ISSS releases your student record in SEVIS.

The F-1 Transfer-out Request form may be submitted online through myPassport with your WSU network ID and password.

If you have any questions related to SEVIS transfer, please meet with an ISSS advisor during the regular open advising hours or by appointment.

  1. International Programs office hours for winter break. Plan ahead!

ISSS will be closed but available for emergencies during the University Winter Closure between Dec. 26 and Jan. 1. During that time, we cannot commit to processing requests so PLAN AHEAD if you need to submit a request to our office.

Please email ip.intlservices@wsu.edu for questions or to arrange an advising appointment. We will make sure someone from our team is available to help during this time.

  1. Undergrad academic deficiency warning

Degree-seeking undergraduate students whose semester and/or cumulative GPA is below 2.0 after fall 2023 may become academically deficient.

Make sure to check your myWSU account when the final grades are posted after finals week. If you become deficient, read the Academic Success and Career Center’s information on academic deficiency and reinstatement

Graduate students should contact the Graduate School regarding academic deficiency.

If you have any questions about the above announcement, please contact International Student and Scholar Services.
