  1. International Programs Town Hall – Oct. 19, 2020

The Office of International Programs will host a Town Hall following WSU’s decision announced on Oct. 15 to continue remote instruction for spring 2021 semester. Please submit your questions using this link  by noon Pacific Standard Time on Monday, Oct. 19, 2020.

Contact ip.intlservices@wsu.edu for the Zoom link and passcode.

Please note that the ICE Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) has not yet issued guidance for international students for spring term.

  1. Check your program end date on your I-20/DS-2019

F-1 students: Program end date is listed in the box titled “Program of Study” on the first page of your I-20.

J-1 students: Program end date is listed in box three on the first page of your DS-2019.

Is the end date in 2020? If yes, are you graduating in December? If not, then you MUST request an extension of your I-20 or DS-2019 BEFORE it ends. Failure to do this will put you out of your legal F-1 or J-1 status.

Please log in to https://mypassport.wsu.edu and then go to F-1 or J-1 Student Services (depending on if you are on an F-1 or J-1 student visa) and complete the form called “Extension of I-20 Document” if you are an F-1 student or “Extension of DS-2019 Document” if you are a J-1 student.

Please do not wait until the last minute to do this!

  1. Take care of your health! Health and wellness resources

As the weather changes from warm summer to the colder fall and winter months in the Northern Hemisphere, students will often become ill or suffer from some seasonal stress and anxiety.

Washington State University has many resources to help you out during this time!

If you are a Pullman-based student, you have access to our Student Health Center, which provides a LOT of services including on-site medical assistance, behavioral health therapists, a pharmacy, and a vision clinic. Here is more information: https://hws.wsu.edu/.

Additionally, Counseling and Psychological Services offers group and individual counseling for WSU students. More information can be found here: https://counsel.wsu.edu/. They also provide workshops that help teach you how to deal with stress and anxiety as you go through your college years.

If you have any questions about the above announcements, please contact International Student and Scholar Services.
