  1. Advising hours during Thanksgiving vacation

ISSS advising hours will be available Monday through Wednesday (Nov. 20-24) of Thanksgiving week, even though there will be NO CLASSES. Log in to our portal webpage between 1-3 p.m. (U.S. Pacific time).

  1. Pullman only: Cougar Health Services registration holds. Check your myWSU account

Do you have a measles, Green Dot, or BSRC hold in your myWSU account? If so, these holds can prevent you from registering for the spring 2024 semester and can impact your F-1/J-1 status.

The BSRC workshop is mandatory for all first-year and transfer students who are under the age of 21 as of Aug. 1 during their first semester on the Pullman campus.

Please contact Cougar Health Services to check how to remove the hold(s) if you have any.

  1. International Programs office hours for winter break. Plan ahead!

ISSS will be available only for emergencies during the University Winter Closure between Dec. 26 and Jan. 1. During that time, we cannot commit to processing requests within the usual 5-day turnaround time. Therefore, PLAN AHEAD if you need to submit a request to our office.

Please email ip.intlservices@wsu.edu for questions or to arrange an advising appointment. We will make sure someone from our team is available to help during this time.

  1. Deadline to withdraw from classes is TODAY at midnight

The deadline for undergraduate and professional students to withdraw from a course (see Rule 68) is TODAY (Nov. 17). Withdrawals do not reduce tuition charges and may impact your F-1/J-1 immigration status as you need to maintain full-time enrollment for the term. Please submit a drop/withdraw request in myPassport by midnight TODAY if you need to withdraw from a class; on Monday our office will determine if the withdrawal will affect your status. If it will, the request will not be processed.

Fear of failing the class or having a bad grade is not a legitimate reason to be approved for a Reduced Course Load for immigration purposes. Please log in to our portal webpage between 1-3 p.m. (U.S. Pacific time) to meet with one of our advisors if you have questions.

If you have any questions about the above announcement, please contact International Student and Scholar Services.
