International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) in the Office of International Programs is here to support you. To do that effectively, we want to learn what you need. You can help us by telling us through the International Student Needs Assessment Survey about your time at WSU so far, including your experiences on campus. The survey is open to all international students at all WSU locations. It is completely anonymous, meaning that your answers cannot be connected back to you. Win one of five $50 Amazon gift cards by taking the WSU International Student Needs Assessment Survey!

Participation in this survey is voluntary and private, and we value your perspective and hope you will take this opportunity to let your voice be heard. If you have questions about the survey, please reach out to us directly at ip.intlservices@wsu.edu.

  1. Your country’s flag pin for graduation

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! In connection with the Graduation Celebration, ISSS will be offering a flag pin to all international students expected to graduate this fall and who complete a Program Completion e-form in myPassport by 5 p.m. Nov. 9. The flag pin will be from your home country.

Pullman campus students must pick up their pin at Bryan Hall 206 between Nov. 20 and Dec. 1, no exceptions. (Please note the office will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 23-24.) Students outside of Pullman will have their pins mailed if they provide a mailing address. Questions may be directed to ip.intlservices@wsu.edu.

Thank you and congratulations from all of us in ISSS!

  1. Full-time enrollment requirements

As part of your F-1 or J-1 status, you are required to be enrolled full time unless you have authorization from ISSS to drop below full-time enrollment.

Within 30 days of the semester start date you must be enrolled in the following:

  • Undergraduate students: 12 credits
  • Graduate students: 10 credits

Please note that if you are a current student, your F-1 or J-1 status is tied to your full-time enrollment or having a reduced course load approved by our office. Holding on-campus employment, such as an assistantship, does not constitute maintenance of status. You can remain legally in status without employment, as long as you are enrolled full time.

If you need to drop below full-time enrollment, please meet with an ISSS advisor or contact us (ip.intlservices@wsu.edu or 509-335-4508) to learn more.

  1. Report harassment/discrimination

If you witness or experience harassment or discrimination, please report it! Your identity will be protected, and you will help continue to make our campus community a safe and welcoming place for all. Here is how to file a report.

WSU Compliance and Civil Rights (CCR) provides resources, advice, solution building, investigation, support, education, and training relating to compliance and civil rights. CCR is the central resource office for complaints of discrimination, harassment, sexual harassment, and sex- and gender-based violence.

As always, please do not hesitate to contact ISSS for assistance at ip.intlservices@wsu.edu or 509-335-4508. For non-Pullman locations, please contact our office so we can support you.

If you have any questions about the above announcement, please contact International Student and Scholar Services.
